Tourist Attractions : Michigan

Though Michigan can be visited all year round, the best time is during the months of September, October and early November when nature throws a riot of colors all round. Michigan also offers a host of outdoor activities including swimming, biking, boating and fishing. Some of the important tourist destinations are:

    * Mackinac Island If you want to escape the heat of cities during the summer months, the best place to escape is the Mackinac Island. Enjoy the fresh lake breezes and solitude that has been possible because of cars being prohibited in the area.

    * Charlevoix Historical Society - Charlevoix Charlevoix Historical Society brings together people interested in the history of the Charlevoix area and in the protection and preservation of places and objects of historical value in the area.

    * Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village - Dearborn Learn more about the extensive collection in American technology, transportation, and domestic life in Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Musuem.

    * Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore - Empire Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore encompasses a 35 mile stretch of Lake Michigan's eastern coastline. The park has some exquisite natural features that include dune formations, forests, beaches, and ancient glacial phenomenon.

    * Detroit Historical Museum – Detroit- Detroit Historical Museum preserves and presents the history of Michigan in real and vibrant ways that recognize the past as the beginning for the future.
